Hello,

I knew my family had roots in Virginia. I just didn’t know how deep they really where until my search brought me to a RootsWeb’s project named “Southern Legacy” created by my new found cousin Kathy.

My interest was sparked by my fathers passing last year. As a boy, I found it strange that I liked rainy days, mountains, building things with rocks and my “screw you” attitude when someone crossed me. Well, my search into the family history has helped me explain why and who I am. This too is a great site for resourses. Thank you Hugh!

Hello,

After visiting this web site, Which I think is wonderful, I called my aunt and found out my great grandfather and great-great grandfather were both named Jesse. My grandfather was named Raymond O. McGehee. My father was William Thomas McGehee he had two brothers one was Jesse Ray and the other is James Larry McGehee. As you can see many of the names in my family are the same as found in this site. After finding your site it is now understandable why I have always been interested in anything McGregor especially Rob Roy. I am now interested in researching my family ancestry. Thank you and I will be back.

This is a wonderful site, full of great information.  I am raising my nephew, Bobby Joe McGehee III and will use the information on this site to help him learn about his ancestry.  Thank you!

This is an extraordinarily interesting family to research.  My wife is a direct descendant of Thomas Mackgehee (Edward McGehee > Micajah McGehee > Abner Mcgehee > James McGehee > Oliver Clark McGehee > Paul Duncan McGehee > Edward Henderson McGehee > my wife (Virginia McDuffie McGehee).

I’ve got a lot of notes on the family and assorted cousins.  The family tree (“Condon McGehee Tree”) is posted at ancestry.com.  Or if you have a specific question or info, please contact me.

When’s the McGehee family reunion?

I am delighted to find this website and have found all of the info very interesting. I have just recently decided to learn more about my family history. I have good information going back to my great, great grandfather William McGehee who fought for the Union Army. Thanks for the upkeep of this site. It is appreciated very much.

Hello and thank you for this great site as I am learning more about my McGregor/McGehee connection.  I am descended from Edward McGehee from his marriage to Elizabeth DeJarnette.

Hi, I love the website. I descend from Holden Magee. He was born Richmond GA 1790 and lived in Simpson MS and later Texas. He lived to 108. It is said he was a small man but could whip his weight in wildcats.

Due to the previous Dreambook guestbook not offering sufficient user controls to suit me, I’m replacing it with this self-hosted guestbook. Some of the advantages:

1. E-mail addresses are encoded to protect against harvesting by spammers.

2. Entries containing offensive or abusive content can be removed and their authors blacklisted.

3. I’m pretty sure Dreambook’s size limit per comment was less than 2,500 characters.

I had hoped to give this guestbook a cleaner URL than this, but at least this way it works.
