Chris McGehee
I was born in eastern Tennessee but we moved around a lot so I can say I grew up in Tennessee and Virginia and California. I work as a hydrologist for the National Weather Service, at the Southeast River Forecast Center in Peachtree City, Georgia. Before, I was service hydrologist at the Weather Forecast Office in Fairbanks, Alaska for five years, and before that I interned at the New Orleans/Baton Rouge WFO in Slidell, Louisiana—I was there when Hurricane Andrew hit the area after crossing Florida in 1992, but obviously Katrina did a great deal more damage in 2005.
Today I live in Coweta County, Georgia with my husband Kevin, our three cats Taz, Suzie Q and Mickie, and our dog Lucy.
I’m a “ham,“ call sign KLØUD, am treasurer of the Bill Gremillion Memorial Radio Club in Newnan, and was emergency coordinator for the Coweta County Amateur Radio Emergency Service, 2006-08. I also belong to Women of the Moose and Daughters of the American Revolution.
